Get ready for a night of pure Irish comedy gold as Carnegie Players bring The Pension Plan to the Briery Gap stage.
Written by the ever-popular John McDwyer, this laugh-out-loud hit has been packing houses across Munster—and it’s easy to see why. Set on a quiet hillside farm, the story follows bachelor brothers Eugene and Sneachta Flanagan, whose peaceful routine is hilariously upended by an unexpected visit from the Pensions Department… and a determined neighbour with plans of her own.
What unfolds is a fast-paced, sharply observed comedy full of rural charm, eccentric characters, and brilliantly timed twists. With standout performances from Pádraig Rochford, Bernie O’Sullivan, Susan Hennessy and Brendan Grant, this production captures all the warmth and wit that have made the show a runaway success in towns like Kenmare, Dingle and Bantry.
Now making its way to Cork audiences, this is your chance to catch a truly entertaining slice of home-grown theatre. Expect big laughs, lovable characters, and a feel-good night out that’ll leave you smiling all the way home.
