Briery Gap welcomes acclaimed Limerick singer-songwriter Emma Langford for an evening of contemporary Irish folk, storytelling and powerful songwriting.
Emma brings a distinctive perspective to Irish folk music, drawing on folklore, history and traditional storytelling while exploring themes that remain deeply relevant today. Her songs range from intimate, personal stories to bold explorations of social injustice, women in history and global issues.
Her debut album,Quiet Giant, earned her the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award for Best Emerging Artist in 2018. Her second album, Sowing Acorns, further established her reputation, with songs including The Winding Way Down to Kells Bay and Birdsong receiving widespread acclaim.
Known for live performances that combine beautiful vocals with folk tales, humour and engaging anecdotes, Emma has been compared to artists including Janis Ian, Joan Baez and Ani DiFranco.
With a voice that can move from delicate and intimate to powerful and arresting, Emma Langford offers a fresh and compelling take on the Irish folk tradition.
