Film Synopsis | In the immediate aftermath of World War II, US Army psychiatrist Lt. Col. Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek) has been assigned to assess whether high-ranking Nazi prisoners are mentally fit to stand trial, among them the eerily charismatic Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe), Hitler’s former second-in-command. Kelley sees an opportunity to psychologically define evil, and garner material for a sure-fire bestseller in the process. But Göring proves elusive. US Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson (Michael Shannon) also finds himself outfoxed by Göring’s manipulations and deceptions, and he must call upon Kelley’s expertise in his efforts to bring one of history’s most notorious monsters to book. With a supporting cast that includes Leo Woodall and Richard E. Grant, James Vanderbilt’s gripping film depicts the fascinating events.
