Presented by the National String Quartet Foundation, the internationally renowned Carducci Quartet bring an exceptional evening of chamber music to Briery Gap, with a programme spanning two centuries of string quartet writing.
The evening opens with the youthful brilliance of Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 18 No. 1, alongside the evocative Adagio and Scherzoby Irish composer Brian Boydell. The programme continues with Philip Glass’s String Quartet No. 2, originally composed as incidental music for a stage adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s Company, before concluding with the lyrical elegance of Mendelssohn’s String Quartet Op. 44 No. 1.
