Film Synopsis | From acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh comes a witty and poignant comedy-drama about art, legacy, and second chances.
Once a celebrated figure of the London art world, eccentric painter Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) has retreated into isolation, leaving behind a series of unfinished masterpieces known as The Christophers. Hoping to secure their inheritance, his estranged children recruit a talented young artist, Lori (Michaela Coel), to secretly complete the works.
What begins as a scheme soon evolves into an unexpected and moving relationship between two artists from different generations, as questions of authenticity, creativity, and ownership come to the fore. Sharp, funny, and deeply humane, The Christophers is a charming exploration of what we leave behind—and who gets to shape our legacy.
